Do you believe within that you can keep your natural teeth for the lifetime?
You are not alone if you have dental problem. The question remains,
are you reaching out to your general dentist and attending your
regularly scheduled dental cleaning sessions? Are you brushing your
teeth at least two times per day, preferably three times per day? Also,
are you flossing at least once a day?
So here are 10 healthy tips for maintaining your oral health and hygiene
1).Brush at least twice a day
The best time to brush teeth is after meals. Choose a toothbrush with a
small head for better access to back teeth. Soft bristles are kinder on
your gums.
2).Use fluoridated toothpaste
Fluoride helps to harden tooth enamel and reduces the risk of decay.Research has shown that it can reduce plaque,remove tarter,and clean and protect the teeth.
3).Brush thoroughly
Tooth brushing should take between two and three minutes.
4).Floss your teeth daily
Use a slow and gentle sawing motion.
5).Limit acidic drinks like soft drinks and fruit juices
Food acids soften tooth material and dissolve the minerals in tooth
enamel, causing holes (cavities or caries). In severe cases, teeth may
be ‘eaten’ right down to the gum.
6).Protect your teeth from injury
Wear a mouthguard or full-face helmet when playing sports.
7). Avoid using your teeth for anything other than chewing food
If you use them to crack nuts, remove bottle tops or rip open packaging, you risk chipping or even breaking your teeth.

See your dentist for regular check-ups
You should also visit your dentist if you have a dental problem such as a toothache or bleeding gums.
9).Use mouthwash along side brushing and flossing
Mouthwashes containing Listerine our chlorine dioxide are very helpful
because they help to kill and maintain the bacteria in your mouth. It can help maintain good breath as well as help maintain strong teeth.
10).Clean your tongue
Clean the surface of your tongue daily. By using a professional tongue
cleaner you remove countless bacteria that otherwise live, particularly
on the rougher top surface of your tongue. These can contribute to bad
breath (halitosis) and negatively affect your dental health.
